Mend Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0 CDX Alternator Battery

alternator light comes on once ignition is tuned off an drains battery?

vauxhall cavaleir 2.0 cdx
two weeks ago my alternator light came on and eventually my battery died so i fitted a new alternator the light was still on for a few days then it went out now it comes on once the ignition is turned off and kills my battery

Could be a duff alternator, but it could that the belt is not tight enough or the belt is badly glazed and slipping.
