Baxi Solo 3 PFL - Boiler On light but no fire up?

Help me please.My Baxi solo 3 PFL 30 is not working.Burner On- off.What could be the problem?

Fan neon shows on.Is there a draught issuing from the flue outlet if not swith off th electricity to the boiler & make sure the control box has no voltage to it. Check the fan data plate which should be 240 on the Baxi pF s.
disconnect the red & blue wires to the fan motor. Rig a feed from a power point with a 3amp fuse in the plug & wire the red/brn =blu wires on the fan. Turn on power to fan does the fan run = no replace fan. Yes the fan is OK

My baxi solo 3 PFl wont work ,changed PCb board no difference changed overhear stat no difference ,I took the wires off the PCB from the overheat stat it then it allows the overheat light on no other lights come on I reset it turn it on & it puts the overheat light out the only way to get the overheat light back on is to take the 2 orange wires off & left off no other lights come on the pump works the diverted works any body any ideas I wish Paul Daniels was still alive

I changed the pcb due to the pump not shuting down, new pcb worked perfectly for 6 months, yesterday the boiler light on came on but wouldn't fire up. So I put the old pcb back on to see if it would start, sure enough it fired up straight away. I took the 6 month old pcb back to where I bought only to be told, they don't take back pcb's once they have been fitted. I said how would you ever know if it worked in the first place without fitting it! £140 down the drain.

I had the same issue - boiler light on, fan light on, nothing else. The fan motor had burnt out. ordered a new one at £204. part number 246051 for pfl 30 - 50 and 246052 for 60 - 80

Help? My Baxi has packed in again, once per year.

System Light Status
Boiler light - on
Fan Light - on
Pilot - off
Burner on - off
What is the problem? Pressure switch? Thermocouple? or Wall mounted thermostat? or Other? If you can help, let me know :)

we have same problem had it eight years had two fans one fan after five years the other two years after first replacement and one pcb board after two years from installation my conclusion this boiler is not fit for purpose!!!!!
Has just gone wrong again maybe cheaper to buy a new boiler as it is in house for elderly customer

Baxi Solo 3 40 PF, the pilot light will not light up, the Burner and fan lights come on but the pilot will not come on - gas safe engineer has replaced the PCB and carried out full service worked fine for x2 weeks but now the pilot will not come on any ideas?

Boiler light on......signal/power is then sent to the fan which then generates a suction on the air pressure switch which the brings the gas valve and ignition sequence so by following this procedure if for instance you have boiler on/ fan running but no ignition then I'd be checking the air pressure switch and gas valve in that order. Hope this is of some help but I'd always suggest getting a gas safe engineer as the risks are far greater than the benefits.

There is a common problem with the Baxi Solo boilers. If you have the following:

1. boiler light only is on
2. the fan spins
3. the pump runs

and it doesn't fire up then it's normally because one of the Pressure Switch hoses has perished or the sensor itself is knackered.

Gotthe same issue on our BAXI Solo 3 PFL40, the fan light is flicking on and off [2 second intervals] the pilot light remains out..... I have noticed a noise similar to a sticky fan, I wonder if its just the fan from stopping the pilot light from working?

I have called the local heating engineering company, will keep you posted .

The boiler on light comes on, the fan light does not, so I changed the fan and I still have the same problem!

Just had exactly same problem (16 October 2009)--Baxi Solo 3 40 PF--Called in my regular Gas Engineer he fitted a new PCB into the boiler--PCB the part with all the lights on IE On/Off switch and the lights -Overheat-Boiler-Fan-Pilot- Burner---Took him 45 mins to investigate get the part, the PCB, and fit it ---Cost me £225.00p which I thought was terribly expensive but boiler now works perfectly

i have same problem.... but it also gets to fan on aswell.... then no further. does not light up. any help?

If the boiler on light is on, it will then go to fan on, pilot on then burner on. If it does not go to fan on stage, it may be a faulty programmer or more often than not the fan is not turning in the boiler which could be faulty. Check the air pressure hoses on the top of the fan unit, sometimes they perish and stop any ignition on the boiler.
