How can I fix my Poulan Pro 221?

First, drain the oil out of the tank. Pull off the clutch cover and take the bar and chain off. If you can get access to an air compressor and a blow gun, put the blow gun tip in the tank and with a rag cover the opening to the tank so you get as little blow back as possible but don't completely block the opening. You want some air to come out but watch out for the residual oil blowing out of the tank. Blow compressed air in the tank and look for oil coming out of a little hole above and in front of the clutch on the other side. If nothing comes out shine a light into the oil tank and look for a small strainer on the end of a hose. If there is one try to get it out of the tank and clean it. If the is not a strainer that can be pulled out you are better off to take it to a shop. there is an oil pump that is either clogged or the passages are clogged. this requires a lot of disassembly. It shouldn't take a proficient mechanic more than an hour to complete this. Good luck.
