Mend Makita 6213D Cordless Drill Chuck

how to remove a chuck on a Makita cordless drill?

I have a Makita cordless drill 12 V, 3/8", model 6213D. I newed to install a new gear unit, but I cannot remove the drill chuck from the old unit. Can anyone help guide me?
