NEFF FAN OVEN NOT HEATING?

Ok, I've taken a look inside this one.

You can do it from the inside making sure the power is off. First the are 4 screws holding the back cover in place. These can be tight but will unscred with a phipps +. The eliment is half-moon shape and held in by two further screws either side.

Once removed the eliment will pull out gently. The conector point are on the left hand side. The right will pull free easy but you may need to manour the elliment to pull though the left side because the wires connecting it.

Mark each wire top and bottom with a bit of masking tape then pull the connectors off. They are tight and in extream cases some people might need to get the oven out the housing to get leverage perhaps from behind.

Then it's just case of conecting the new eliment, seating it in and screwing everything up. How the hell these ovens are worth so much I'll never understand. Seems to me you could make and sell them for £200.

I'll add it seems from a google search that these elliments are either £25 for true NEFF or £15 for unbranded. Some NEFF also use the same as Borch.

You will most probably find that the element is gone, This is a job for a qualified repair but you can do it yourself providing that you do this safely.
Firstly isolate the cooker from the mains do not just turn the cooker off make usre the MCB or fuse for the cooker at the consumer box close to your electricity meter is turned off first. There might be an inspection cover inside the oven can you remove this to gain a look at the element. Run your finger carefully around the element feeling for any rough broken surface. Usually the element will be cracked. When this happens you may find your consumer box with MCB tripping, switch the mcb back on and then find your oven is not working. I would state that the element has gone. These elements have a shelf live of 18 months or so depending on how much the cooker is used.Shop around the net for the cheapest price high street electrical appliance spares are usually a rip off!
