Mend Peugeot 206 LX Petrol Engine Ignition

How can I fix the stop lamp on my 'T' Reg Peugeot 206 ?

The 'rear' stop lamps on my 'T' Reg Peugeot 206 LX, petrol engine, come on when the ignition is turned on. Why? and how can I fix it.

Check out the stop lamp switch itself - curiously enough its actually on the passenger side below the parcel shelf. They often fall off.
