Mend Victa GCV160 Lawnmower Engine Stops

Victa lawnmower with Honda GCV 160 motor runs then stops?

I have a Victa lawnmower with a Honda GCV 160 motor which runs fine for about 30 secs then coughs and stops. Wait 5 mins, then it starts and stops again after about same time. New fuel being used - air cleaner OK.

I can now answer my own question.
After overhauling the carbie 3 times, as I had been assured that this would be the problem, a new spark plug fixed the problem.

thry checking to see if the choke is sticking on
also make sure the fuel is fresh as it could be stale and check for water in the tank
