My baxi solo 3 ,pfl range, won't light. The fan and power lights are on but the pilot light is off and nothing happens when i try to light it, it originally had a hard time to initially light up but would go off and on all day easily. Is this the spark? is it a spark thermocouple two in one thingy? Please help some kind soul.
When you press the button can you hear gas escaping? The igniter produces a spark that ignites the gas and it naturally has to be very close to the nozzle. Once the flame is established a thermocouple - which protrudes into the gas flame - keeps the gas turned on. So 1) is there a draught blowing through the boiler that is blowing the gas away from the spark 2) Is a spark being produced 3) once lit does the flame go out once the button is released? See if you can identify which is the likely problem before calling someone out.

It hasn't got a permanent pilot.Make sure you have gas to the appliance. If in doubt consult a registered installer.
