hello,i have got an r reg 2.5 diesel transit van.starts fantastic in the summer, but as soon as frost sets in its as though the battery is flat. i have replaced the battery and it still does the same thing. wondering if it could be the starter relay but dont know which one it is. whitts end please can anyone help!!!!!!!
try agood quality engine oil often with cheap oils they get very thick in thewinter and can give the symptoms you describe or it could be a lazy starter motor tht takes too much current in the cold weather

The jump leads don't always work, the main reason being that you put the jump leads over the top of the leads on the battery which is where the bad connections are!
Do what I have said and all the problems will be sorted!

The problem here is the connections between the battery and the engine, remove them all and clean the ends up. This is a very very common problem and if you do this small thing will solve it. May also be worth doing an oil change and ensure you use the correct oil.
