Mend Valve Ideas Release

I have a thermostatic radiator valve which appears to be stuck closed?

I have a Wickes thermostatic radiator valve which appears to be stuck closed after being out of action for a while. Anybody any ideas on how I can release it without draining the system?

I also have 2 Wickes trvs sticking closed (from Wickes about 3 years ago). The pins in the valve body move freely, but the plungers in the heads are fully extended regardless of temp setting. I am sure my problems are with the valve heads, but can they be dismantled/fixed? I can't find exact replacements, and would rather not drain the system (or try to freeze the pipes).

I'm not sure what a Wickes valve looks like but you can usually take the top head off a TR valve without draining the system. You should then see a small pin which goes down into the inlet pipe. Pull it up with a pair of pliers and make sure it moves freely. Refit head. Test.
