Mend Rover 45 Engine Problem

How do I turn the 'Check Engine' lights off on a Rover 45??

The problem started with the air intake valve that was not allowing the engine to rev up properly. This was solved after the valve was replaced but the 'Check Engine' light on the dashboard does not go off.

You won't be able to turn the light off yourself, but if you visit a garage with suitable diagnostic gear they will be able to do it for you.
