I have the same monitor and heres a tip
you can run the monitor off the 12v and 5v line of your pc power supply
remove the case back and steel plate from the back
disconnect the power supply board and connect the lines to a four pin connector from the pc
the wires are labelled on the board so it should be easy
if your monitor is ok then it should power up if not then bye-bye power supply
I am giving you this answer from the slimview right now and it is perfect
I decided to mount it in the side of my case and it saves so much space that I now have a large mouse mat which is cool for games, cad and surfing
try it!

a slimview is a tft not a crt so the voltage issue isnt rally that important.

I agree. Monitor repairs are rarely cost effective. Use the opportunity for upgrading to a monitor with a three year guarantee. They are relatively cheap these days if you are happy with a CRT monitor.

Hi, my advice to you would be, don't even try! Unless you are an engineer or have a lot of experience repairing monitors, then you are putting yourself at risk. A monitor can 'store' a charge approaching 30 000 volts, and that's not something you need running from your fingers to your feet.
So, be careful and be safe.

Peter
