Mend Bissell Solution Trigger

Bissell Proheat model 7901-1 does not spray solution?

Nope! It won't spray. When trigger is first depressed, it sprays about an ounce then quits. Does anyone have a fix? I've ordered parts from bissell.com, but have not received them yet. I will replace both belts and the flow indicator assembly when they come in. If this fixes it, I will post. If you have any ideas, please advise. Thanks,

does it spray through the hand tools? If it does then it sounds like the heater is blocked- the soap that bissel uses tends to coagulate in the heater or the loines going into the heater- take the lower handle apart, there you should see a rectangular metal box with wires going to it- that is the heater. disconnect the plastic tubes and get like some aquarium hose- attach to either line connection- see if you can blow through it- if you can't then you need to open it (there are 7 screws holding the lid on) using a paper clip or coat hanger see if you can clear the port (!! IMPORTANT!! do NOT push the paper clip more than about 3/4 inch in- you may see the clog right away OR take the paper clip and follow the tracks- have something to wipe the soap clogs onto- when the track is clear, and you can blow through both connectors- then reassemblt the heater, and put the lines back on it, then reassemble the lower handle, and it should be fixed

Pipe,
Any help on how to change that pump? I'm only changing mine because the toothed gear broke and it's all connected but I can't find any "how to" on that.
Thanks.

After seeing your messages i've given up and taken it in for repair. I've been told that the heater needs replacing and this is a common fault on these machines. the fluid passes through the heater and after a few uses it clogs it up. the repair man said he needed to open it up to clean, but that then renders the heater no longer sealed and it needed to be replaced at a cost of £78, or £58 2nd hand part. Nevertheless, after 2-3 uses again the part will go again. it's not something you can take apart and fix yourself. i've taken the stupid thing down the tip and hired a machine from my local shop for £20 instead. i've very angry about it, i expected many years of use out of the machine and only used it 3 times before it died.
