no hot water?

I have a similar problem, CH works fine, but when I call for Hot water from the DHW side the boiler fires up but the water is just warm, if I turn the tap down slowly its difficult to get the burner to switch to the lower level, ie it switchs off then the water runs cold. From reading the manual it would appear that this is a DHW stat failure !!! I am not convinced. I am reluctant to call out an engineer as I was charged £450 last time for a 3 way valve which I now know to be an OTT rip off. I am a service engineer myself but not on heating and gas etc. Anyone pin point this fault ? and restore my faith in the trade that calls themselves Boiler Engineers ? jgalleymore@btopenworld.com

sounds like your diverter valve isn't working.
