Hi, I just cut out the old filter and cleaned up the sides and surrounds of the frame then got the plastic stiffener from around the neck of a new shirt which is about the same width and held the two together while I cut around the old gauze frame. You want the very outside profile with the plastic on the underside of the frame. Then just make a small hole for the clip with the same pair of scissors and fit back into kettle with frame and clip on the outside. You will find that the kettle will shut down a fraction earlier due to the greater backpressure - so win, win, less electricity too. Ideally you would do the same with stainless steel gauze but I didn't have any to hand. Happy kettling!
