singer HD110?

had a bad jam and had to remove the bobbin holder. Then I had to leave town for a while. When I returned I couldn't get the bobbin holder back into the machine. The forked part rides too high. If I push it under the bar, the other side won't go in. The book is NO help. It shows a bad picture with three directions that are numbered 1, A, and B. The directions say to refer to #3 picture, which isn't there. I am so stuck.

Have you checked it is correctly assembled and that nothing is jamming it?
