I have a nice twead suit skirt. All the seams are coming apart and there is a lot of fraying involved. How can this be repaired without it ending up a different size altogether?
the first thing to do is get some iron on hem tape that should stop the fraying, then you need to sew the hem up using a running stitch. But remember to do it so the stiches can't be seen from the outsie of the garment

Hello Linda,
To stabilize the fabric, you could try a lightweight iron-on Vilene cut a bit wider than the seam allowance. After you have ironed it along the length of the seams, stitch along the edge either with a straight stitch or zig-zag to give it extra stability before you restitch the seams.
