How do I fix the bottom tension on a Brother XR-65?

I've been quilting. I took the quilt foot off & put the regular foot back on, tried to sew two pieces of fabric; the top tension was fine, but the bottom tension was very loose - I can pull the stitching right out. How do I fix it?

I've re-threaded the machine and took the bobbin out twice and put the thread in the groove and pulled it up through the throat plate.

If there's an online manual or a hard copy of one, please direct me to it.

I have an XR-65. As far as I can tell, there is no practical way to set the lower tension with a drop-in bobbin. You have to make do by lowering or raising the upper tension.

Hello Leslie,
Check the simple things first, make sure you have presser foot up when you thread the machine, top tension usually about 4 or 5, make sure the bobbin is in the correct way round, if the bobbin thread is tight when you pull it just slacken off the screw on the bobbin case anti clockwise about a quarter of a turn at a time and test sew.
