When I turn my schott cewan hob on all the lights come on when I touch each sensor, I have power, numbers on each one goes from. 1 to 9 . On every ring, it is not locked. The problem is none of the 4 rings heat up , I've had it a year and no problems . I think it must be a sequence problem but I can't work it out ! Can anyone help please .

If I was you i would get rid of it we have had one for ten years and it is nothing but trouble. In todays day and age you would think that something so simple should be so complicated to reset. Im getting rid of this piece of crap.

Hey there! Just moved into a new home and we've got an issue the hot point hob. Any time we try to turn the heat up it comes up with a half 0 error message and doesn't work. Wondering if anyone has any ideas? Thank you

Thanks the above comments helped us.
Press power button, Then L will appear for all the hobs instead of 0s . Now press "+" and "-" at the same time. The lock button LED should glow and then press "-" button which will switch off the hob. Now your hob should be back to normal.

My model has a key-symbol with a red led-light. As it happened the short electricity cut locked my "stove". I tried everything above until took ready-to-spray window cleaner and sprayed some on the buttons. The first touch on lock button turned the button off.
So sometimes the most obvious way IS the best way. ;-)

I was working on a light in the kichen and tok a fide out of the fusk box so there was no power in the kitschen its the old school fuse to. I fixed the light and put fuse back in. When i Didion. Mine has a "U" flashing In one, a "4" on the next and "0's" on the other two. It's beeping very annoyingly and when I hold the on/off button for 5 seconds it shows an "E" flashing on all of them. Anybody knows how to fix this?

I had the same problem and I just fixed it.
1) Press the power button (an L sign appears)
2) Hold the + and - buttons simultaneously (you'll hear a sound and a light turned on on the key sign)
3) leave the + and - button and then press only -
It will switch off. Now switch it on and will work :)

Hi, Thanks for the brill advice, havent had a hobb for weeks.After checking this thread out , I followed instructions from the first thread, bottom right button and - button together. 0 comes up again, then press - again , hobb turns off. Turn on as normal 0 is back . Thank you . Ahhh the possibilities for tea tonight can't wait.

Press Bottom Right "+" and "-" in centre together. This will change the display to "0" on all hobs.
Then presee central "-". This will switch off the hobs.
Now if you switch on the child lock should go with all "0" as display on hobs.

I see the problem as having inadvertantly keyed the child lock safety feature
I tried paul`s system of switch on
hold right ring bottom and minus together
the lock goes off
then press the minus again
the hob switchs off
when you now switch on there will be no lock

to fix this problem you have to turn on the hob and then
press the centre minus button and the bottom right plus button at the same time it will work if not keep trying it took me a while but it works

Pressed right bottom heat zone and minus button together and then minus button again to unlock.
The right and minus didn't always seem to unlock it so switched off and on again until it worked again, read elsewhere about the minus button so the next time i got it to unlock i pressed the minus button again and it turned itself off, when i switched it back on it stayed unlocked !!!

My Shott Ceran electric glass hob came up with a flashing lock and stopped working. I tried all the combinations of button holding down mentioned above but none worked. I also couldn't find a manual online to download incidentally, well not a free one anyway. Anyway, I held down the on button on the far left and after about ten seconds it reset itself and is working fine now!

this is terribly annoying! I still cannot remove the lock on my hob; i have tried holding down the 'hob sign' at the bottom right simultaneously with the minus sign- but this simply comes up with an error signal and when i switch the hob back on, the lock is still in place. HELP!!!! please

Slightly unrelated, but I installed a Schott Ceran topped matsui ceramic hob but when i turned it on I had a flashing 'H' on the top left hob. although it didn't stop that hob working, it was very annoying.
I found by turning it on and holding that hobs button and the minus button this cleared it!

I found out how to disable it!
Do the exact same to unlock the hob and then press the minus sensor in the centre.
The hob will then turn off, turn it back on and their should be no 'L'!

You have to hold down the centre sensor button with the minus on and the sensor which turns on the bottom right ring immediatley after turning the hob on. It should unlock, however this will not disable the lock so after you switch the hob off it may show up with the 'L' once again.
You can disable it but I haven't found out how just yet!

Its a safety lock and holding down the 'minus' sign and top right 'plus' sign for 5 seconds is supposed to clear it. Unfortunately this hasn't worked for me, I just get a 'error 3' message.
