when i try to start my ford escort td in the morning it takes ages. changed glo pugs oil/air filter and checked battery and earth leads which are all fine but i noticed the cold start cable was meant to be set between 1 and 2mm from stop so i altered it by the cable which i now think i may have done wrong and should of adjusted with screw on the side. now it wont start at all but when i do get it started it will start every time no probs with no smoke or rattling.can you please help
Thanks for advice yes checked all that. Also changed diagphram on fuel filter but still no good think it may be something to do with the cold start cable does anyone know how to set them

have you checked for a live feed to heater plugs when ignition turned on and glowplug warning light lit, plugs continue to operate for a short while when warning light goes out.if no feed ,check heater plug relay (on n/s inner wing near headlight)
