I found John Fizzbombs answer worked for me. I guess it all depends on the model of cooker.
Thanks .

We had a power cut and the alarm went off in the middle of the night! Pressed everything I could think of and then read the answers on this page. Depend how old your cooker is as to how many buttons you have!!! I had no bell and it was flashing an 'A' for Alarm (but no button.) I tried button with waves and button with line through waves. Then the + and - to get time. The cook time disappeared and then I had a normal looking time with no bell for timer. What a palaaver. And no manuals left in the new place we moved to.

Hi,

I have recently moved house and the kitchen has a doplomat oven, however the markings have rubbed off from the front of the oven. Could anyone help me out by emailing me a photo of the front. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks everyone-relieved that I wasn't the only person faced with this problem following a power cut - felt less of a complete idiot. I held down 'hand'' and 'cooking pot with waves' then used plus and minus signs.

DIPLOMAT OVEN OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The Diplomat oven is controlled by two knobs and a set of buttons along the middle of the control panel.
The left knob sets the temperature of the oven, while the right knob selects the function to be performed, e.g. fan oven, grill, etc.
The buttons along the middle set the cooker clock, the start and end times of cooking, and the “+” and “-“ buttons will increase or decrease the time shown on the cooker’s clock.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE OVEN WILL NOT OPERATE UNTIL THE CLOCK IS SET.
If there is any interruption to the power supply (including manually switching off at the main switch) the oven will not operate until the clock is reset.
Here’s how to set the clock:
First press simultaneously the first two buttons to the left of the control panel. They are marked as a Bell symbol (Alarm) , and a steaming Cooking Pot (Start of Cooking Time). Then immediately press the plus “+” or minus “-“ buttons to increase or decrease the time displayed. When the desired time has been reached, leave it for a few seconds, and it will remain set at this time. Any further changes to the displayed time will require this procedure to be repeated.

Hello,
I had the same issue after a power cut.
All I had to do is to press the 'timer' button (with the bell) and the 'cooking' button (with the pan and heat waves) together at the same time. Then the little dot between the hours and minutes starts flashing (your are then in the 'clock setting' mode). Then adjust the time using the + and - buttons. Once you have the correct time, just leave it and it will automatically quit the 'clock setting' mode.

I had the same problem - and my version doesn't have a button with the manual hand symbol. My version has an alarm button (with a bell symbol); a cooking duration button (a pan with wavy lines); a stop cooking time (a pan with a cross through); a plus button and a minus button. I found (by trial and error) that by holding the cooking duration and the stop cooking time buttons down together and then pressing either the + or - button, the time advances. I also found out that to reset the system after automatic cooking has completed, you press the cooking duration and stop cooking time buttons at the same time... Now all I have to do is figure out what all the oven symbols mean...

If the electicity supply has been switched off, the time display will flash. To reset clock, press and release the Manual button (with a hand symbol) on the timer display and immediately set the time using the plus + and/or minus - buttons.
The Cook Time symbol will illuminate on the timer display to indicate the timer is in manual mode.
To adjust the time of day press and release the Manual button on the timer display and set the time using the plus + and/or minus - buttons.
Hope this helps!
