Mend Panasonic DMR-ES20DEB Starts Up Switches Off

DVD recorder starts up then switches off?

Panasonic DVD recorder model DMR-ES20DEB switches on then after quite a while of"thinking about it", switches itself off.!! Tried pressing start button for 10seconds to no avail. Has it packed up,.it is only 18months old.

With a dvd player / recorder it's worth buying a warantee, except that my dvd recorder's doing exactly the same. I bough it three years ago for £189.99 and I got a 5 year warantee. Pop quiz time! How many DVD recorders can you buy for £230?

Same Problem for me with an 18 month old DMR-ES20 - Playing back a dvd it switches itself off after 2-4 minutes. Help please>
