can anyone help me solve my md217/256 mystery please???

Hi you shouldn't need a cd as it should be pre installed ready to just plug into your computer. open up you my computer folder plug in mp3 via usb connector and a new drive should open up on the screen click on it to open it then you just drag and drop music files into it.
any other probs email me. where did you get it from and how much did you pay? as i have the same mp3 player but i've lost my usb connector and need a new one. my email is

If you havn't found out which cable you need by now,it's a Usb and mini Usb connection.

if it came with a cable then just plug it into the port on the side of he layer next to the headphone jackport. plug it into the computer's usb port then it should autoatically come up with some options on the pc choose what you would like(personally prefer open and view files then opy ad paste the songs) if it came with cd insert the cd and it should run a program by itself this is to install the drivers if it dosent run automatically then look on the cd for a program (.EXE file) sually called setup or a bunch of letters and numbers.
