Mend McCulloch CS38 / 16" MS1635 35cc Chainsaw Engine Mcculloch

Oil to gas ratio?

HELP! I can't find the manual for my McCulloch chain saw model #CS38 / 16" / MS1635 / 35cc. I need to know the oil to gas ratio so I don't blow the engine. HELP??

"That's an 8:1 ratio (British gallons). It's even more for an American gallon"
The first part is correct. The second isn't. British or US, it's 8 pints to the gallon.

The correct ratio for this saw is 40:1

One pint of oil to a gallon of gas is a ludicrous amount of oil!

That's an 8:1 ratio (British gallons). It's even more for an American gallon.

The heaviest of oil rations recommended is 25:1. That's 40cc of oil for a litre of petrol. Or an ounce of oil for 25 ounces of petrol.

Many saws seem to require only 50:1 ratio, but if in doubt go for 25:1. At least that way you won't seize it up. At the suggested 8:1 ratio above, you won't be able to find the tree for the smoke cloud you are making, and the saw will stop inside an hour with a filthy spark plug.
