I have a mcculloch chain saw - MAC3516 35cc. It starts in the choke position, but once the choke lever is shifted to the Run position the engine stops.
Running lean, simple things first, replace the fuel filter in the tank, check for broken/cracked fuel hoses, check carb screws are tight, no better turn the H and L screws out 1/4 turn on each, if no better remove carb and clean the screen under the pump cover
