Hi, can anyone help - Ford Fiesta not starting - battery is fine but the engine doesn't turn - instead, there is a 'hammering sound' - any idea? The car has been standing for about 4 weeks and prior to that all was fine?
Hi thanks - you were absolutely right - the battery needed charging but it was at the end of its lifespan - new battery fixed the problem - cheers

is engine free, if so is earth lead to engine ok,and do other electrics ok? is it a diesel?

double checked battery and it is fine - also tried with jump leads to good car - when the ignition key is turned there is a clicking (or kind of fine hammering) sound - but the engine doesn't fire / or turn
