Mend Toyota Corolla Cable Gas Tank

How can I fix the cable that opens the gas fill lid on my 2000 Toyota Corol?

I have a 2000 Toyota Corolla. The lid over the gas tank fill spout is opened by a lever under the seat. This lever no longer activates the lid. How do I repair it.

when you pull the fuel release lever get someone to push on the left side of the the fuel flap if the flap opens then there is a spring clip on the inside of the flap simply bend the clip slightly and retry
