How can I fix my Dishlex DX302SJ dishwasher?

I am very surprised it even finishes a cycle without the heating element working. But here you go. You can check the resistance and insulation breakdown of the heating element if you can get to the heating elements connections. Just disconnect them and use a multimeter to measure between the two terminals. I would imagine around 50-100 ohms are approximate figures. Also measure between one of the terminals and an earth point on the chasis of the diswasher. This should be open circuit, or mega ohms. Make sure you put the connections back to normal. Generally you will have to replace the heating element which is not that hard to the handy man? $50-$70 maybe. See how you go. Happy washing up.
