I hope this will help you because I had a similar problem with mine, the fuel pump relay is under the stering behind the screw on panel on the dash, the panel has got a electrical box on the back of it, it is isn't this but tucked just inside the dash you should find it on its own on the end of a wire. The next problem is tracking down a original RS 16i relay they are rarer than rocking horse S~#t so if you don,t mind having a non original one the mk1 golf gti has the same relay, which you can buy from German and Swedish car parts on the internet. hope this solve your problem!!!!!
