Golf Mark 3 Remote Central Locking and alarm won't work?

I stupidly swapped the 10Amp fuse for a 15amp as it blew whenever I plugged anything into the cigarette lighter. I have since used the cig lighter but now the central locking only works with the key and the alarm won't set. (the fuse hasn't blown and the cig lighter still works so I think I've blown something somewhere else on the circuit. (or could the fob need resetting as I also let the battery go completely flat the night before it stopped working.

I think remote alarm and central locking were fitted as an extra when it was new as its a 'P' reg Golf
