how can i fix speedo problem on 2006 fiesta?

My wife's Fiesta on 03 plate has similar probs. Having seen the Watchdog item on Focus instruments, we suspect that her problem is the same - bad connection at multiplug behind the inst. cluster. In the case of the Focus, it seems to be corrosion, causing a bad contact - some people have even used WD40 to clean the contacts, and solved it.
Worth a wiggle on the wiring?

I don't have an answer, I'm really hoping you do now and I can pick your brains. We are also having a problem with our ford fiesta zetc 1.6 diesel which means the speedo doesn't work (nor the odometer, the miles/gallon, and the ABS light comes on). The car has been in the garage 3 days and they still can't work out what the problem is.

speed sensor? is the car still under warranty?

the speed sensor plugs into the top of the gearbox with a wiring loom on the end of it. it can be tricky to get to, ford charge £165 to change it although the part is around £30.
