I work at a Lay-Z-Boy dealer in the repair department and have replaced the control module for these power lift chairs several times over the last few months.
First check your power supply and the wires going to it to the chair to make sure they aren't pinched or damaged. If they are, replace the power supply.
If the wires look okay then pull the fabric up on the back of the chair (it's held down with velcro). You should see the bottom of the control module. It's about a 14"X6"X1" black plastic box. Try the controls while putting your hand on the box to see if that is what is clicking when you try to use the chair.
If it's just clicking and nothing is moving chances are the control module is bad. Lay-Z-Boy has had an upgraded control module to replace these with. The part is only held down with two plastic zip ties so you can cut these and get the part number off of the module. The new part number ends in -02.
Check to see if your still covered under warranty. Your chairs information will be on a tag under the footrest somewhere.
If you are out of warranty contact your local Lay-Z-Boy dealer to get the part you need. they can order you one if they don't stock them.
