How can I repair/replace the compressor?

You can't do this yourself It is a specialised job and the engineers told me that once the compressor is replaced once then it is likely to keep going.

Such a waste but it is more than likely to be written off. Depending on how old the product is (ff's have a life of around 10 years) you may be able to claim in the small claims court. My email address is maxxs_mummy@yahoo.co.uk if I can help at all.
