If you are in England (Not sure about Scotland or NI) which reckon that a TV should last at least five years or it was not a merchantable quality when sold. Their view is that warranty or no a TV should not break after the short time that you have had it or it was not fit for purpose when bought. You should take this up with the retailer. I would write to the retailer's head office pointing this out and asking that it be fixed or replaced.
