Not enough info Pete. Is it low voltage or line voltage. Is it a bi-pin halogen. Does the bulb sit inside a protective enclosure or is it open. If it has a protective cover they usually unscrew exposing the bulb. If a bi-pin bulb pull it out. When you put the new one in make sure to use a tissue or cloth to hold the bulb as salt and oil from your fingers will diminish the life of the bulb.
