how do i fix my multimedie media card ?

how do i fix my multimedie card my computer says it is there but witll not install it and it is stuck on 16 colors and wont goany higher, and i dont have a window 98 startup disk so it can build anouter driver for it, is there a web site i can go to aor some thing and how can i find out what kind of multimediw media card i have ? my computer is an energy star
