Boiler timer, clock not functioning 'Sime format 80he'?
The clock if turned manually will turn the boiler on and off but the clock will not rotate independently. How first of all can I check that there is power to the clock and secondly if it is correctly wired.
Have had same problem for a couple of months now.
Model is Sime Friendly E.
Plumber has changed clock motor twice so problem lies elsewhere. power is routed from circuit board through a cylindrical component on far left-hand-side - looks like a switching relay but circuit diagram is not in standard electrical symbols.
How many visits does it take from a plumber before it is more cost effective to just replace the boiler with a more reliable model from a reliable manufacturer? not many, I guess!
