As the engine starts when you jump the battery from your car this leaves only two possible causes:
1. The charging system may be faulty. With the engine running connect a multimeter to the battery this should show at least 13 volts. If it shows less than this check that the alternator drive belt is tight, and that all connections are clean and tight. If all these checks are good then you may need a new alternator.
2. The battery may not be holding a charge. Check the battery voltage after the engine has been off for an hour or two, if its less than 12.2 volts change the battery.
