I droped my sony ericsson and now the screen is black, can I fix it?

I droped my phone (sony ericsson z520a )it didnt hit hard but when I picked it up the screen wouldnt light up. I turned it off, took the battery out and reset it but the screen is pitch black. The phone works all but the screen, I am a little dabble a bit with my computers and other things fixing them and would like to try to work on this one but have no clue where to start. I love this phone and really dont want to get rid of it. It has all of my favorites and pictures in it. Please help.
