Mend Ford Fiesta Clutch Gears Reverse

what is wrong with my n reg ford fiesta?

my ford fiesta keeps getting stuck in first,second and reverse the clutch stays down and drags the car unless i manage to get it out of gear the vehicle eventually stalls. If i do get it into neutral at a junction i have to pump the clutch a few times to make it come back up. I have no problems in 3,4 or 5th gear. Any comments much appreciated.

1. Make sure that there is nothing interfering with the operation of the clutch pedal under the dash e.g. rubber mats etc.
2. Clutch cable may be sticking in outer sleeve, try lubricating with WD40 or replace cable.
3. Clutch self adjusting mechanism could be faulty, located at the top of the pedal and can be replaced.
