my immobiliser rover 214?

Why will my fob not reprograme itself on my rover 214. M831 WWJ after replacing the battery and trying many times of four presses of the button and useing the key entry code.

If its a two button plip (fob) then the car may have 'forgotten' it. If that is the case the car need plugging in to a diagnostic computer to reset it.

If it's a one button plip there is a procedure in your hand book.
