We have had the Candy for about 7 years and it has recently started showing excessive drum movement on the spin cycle to the point where it is rubbing against the rubber seal enough to start smoking.
I've had a look inside and everything looks OK, i.e., the supporting springs and dampers (?), are still in one piece and there's nothing else obviously wrong.

I have a candy aquaviva 1000es. The problem was that it starts spinning, and often stops after one high spin. The machine then stops working. Switching it on and off does not solve the problem. The solution was to clean the filter on the bottom left from the front, and there I found some small clips. I also removed the feed into the pump and there I discovered some large pieces that were blocking the water flow thus stopping the machine from working. You need a plier to remove the clip keeping the flexible pipe connected to the drain water pump

I would hazzard a guess at the spider on the back of the drum or the bearings. You'll have to strip the machine down to confirm if it is the spider same applies for the bearings.
