Mend Kenmore HET3 Washing Rinse Error

The washing machine will not complete the rinse and spin cylcle?

On my kenmore het3 elite an error message of f shows up and the spin and rinse cycle freezes with the water remaining.

Kenmore Kenmore HET3 Household Appliances, Washing Machines Washing Rinse Error

When our washing machine done the same thing, I discovered that the filter which is found at the bottom of the machine (usually behind a small door at the front) was clogged up with debris such as money and odds and ends. There is a rubber pipe in the same compartment which could be used to empty the water before undoing the filter.
