wont spin?

my washer goes through all the motions until the spin cycle. you can hear it running so why wont it spin ?
It is a Crosley heavy duty giant capacity plus, quiet series, 3 speed combo and the model no I believe is 12731059ZW; sreies WASO1139807134

Most likely the belt on the bottom of the washer needs to be tighten or replaced.
