how can i fix my lights ,transit van ,x reg?

same has happened to me , my side/tail and marker lights stopped working , fuses are fine called my breakdown cover and he said prob the light switch stork on steering column or a relay. Going to attempt to unscrew the steering column cover and check the relevant connections are good before buying a stork ( a garage quoted me about £100.00 to fix!), they sell the parts on ebay and breakersyards.
