Mend Unit Motor Runs

Garbage Disposal Unit is clogged?

How do I unclog the garbage disposal? I foolishly put artichoke leaves down the disposal. The motor runs, the blades are moving
enough to churn up the water which is standing in the sink.
I have used a plunger, turned the unit on and off several times, etc.

Can you give me another suggestion that might work?

I don't know how long this fix will work. I did the same and since I couldn't afford to replace the garbage disposal right away I let it sit for a couple of months. Apparently the artichoke leaves dessicated and now the disposal works again! Wish me luck!
