The light behind the knobs will not stay on it keeps flashing regardless of which ring or oven is switched on i have changed the tube, starter & the choke/transformer any ideas thanks
Had same problem, caused by timer circuit on pcb getting
mains ripple, this was because the 220uf 16v electrolytic
capacitor had dried out, very cheap repair if your soldering/
desoldering skills are up to it.

I had a format 6000 the main light would flicker and the hob hot light switched off when you turned the hob off and was the PCB at the back

The only other possibility - apart from one of your new components being faulty - might be the printed circuit board at the back of the cooker, this controls the operation of the tube, hob hot light and cooling fan. Might be worth checking, although if it was faulty I'd have thought it would just not work full stop...
