My internet connection constantly breaking up and reconnecting. What to do?

Since today my wireless connection keeps on breaking up and reconnecting. It is very annoying as I can not download anything. Please advise! Thanks

Call or email your cable company and get ready for lectures like: restart your modem/router/laptop. I tried describe my problem to the cable guy:wi-fi or wired my connection is either slow/50some Kbs or BIG FAT ZERO...he put a filter on my cable, than the connection was good for a week..
It is close to impossible to make His Majesty The Cable Company ADMIT that their system simply gets OVERLOADED because they sell lines to more and more customers that are up/downloading Zillionbts...
Anyone know how to solve my problem other than cutting my cable?..

Thanks Pete, i like Vista because it breaks down and with my comp knowledge i like to fix it but this seemed very annoying, it fixed after i set it to channel 10 (the neighbors router i'm guessing which is in range).

There are loads of reasons that an RF (WiFi) network connection could fail and then reconnect, it's the nature of the beast, but let's look at the most obvious causes :-

1. HOW FAR IS YOUR COMPUTER AWAY FROM THE RF TRANSMITTER ?
Move the computer nearer the RF tranmitter. If the problem still occurs when the two items are within 2m of each other, it's unlikely to be a signal strength problem.

2. WHO ELSE HAS AN RF NETWORK NEAR YOU ?
RF network channels overlap each other. Many manufactures of RD ADSL routers tend to default to channel 11. Check what RF networks can be found in your area, and change your channel to the least used one.

3. IS IT REALLY THE RF NETWORK, OR IS IT THE ADSL SERVICE ON THE PHONE LINE ?
This is slightly more complicated to check, but the logs within your ADSL router should show when the line has been up or down.

Check these three possibilities first, it will save you at least an hour of a PC engineer's time.
