how can i fix my Gilera DNA125?

I was riding my dna one day and it and it made a crunching noise so i pulled over and the engine was still running but wouldnt accelerate off, then the engine cut cut out completely and now it wont start at all, so im wondering if its the starter motor??? can someone help me please!
