how can i stop my fiesta 1.4 ghia from stalling?

i recently put a new air filter on my wifes fiesta and a breather pipe filter . since then its been really sluggish and keeps stalling when the revs are low . to pull off you need to be at 2 thou on the rev counter ... why

ive had this problem.pop your key in the ignition.turn it 2 clicks so the auto choke lights up.wait 3 seconds.the light goes out.then start the engine.i think the problem is the choke itself.thats my way around it. no problems now..
